My new Christmas romance book, Her Christmas Bonus is being edited now. I should receive the first edit draft tomorrow. Once I receive it, I go through all the edits and feedback to make corrections, revise paragraphs, and write new chapter(s) if that’s what she has recommended. I sent it off last Friday and have been anxiously waiting to see what she send me back.
Once all the revisions have been made, the book goes back to the editor for a final edit. The final revisions should be minimal at this point.
Writing the last chapter was interesting because I had an idea of how I wanted the story to end, but as usual, my characters had other ideas. It’s useless for me to try and edit the book content when the first draft is done because I’m too close to the story. A week is usually a good period of time to let the story settle and then look at it with fresh eyes.
And you never know, the characters may want to make a new ending!
